Traversée

Traversée is a video and sound installation, which comes from Anna Kerekes' daily recording practice. The moving image-blocks projected in a sequence on five screens explore the transition between various units of space and time via the transparency effect. This stack of images and sounds contains several superimposed layers of memories that vibrate with a continuous pulse. The density of this audio-visual log reflects a process of introspection invoking past experiences.
The recorded image and sound scraps originate from the path of the artist in everyday life and crystallize its ephemeral impressions. The on-going nature of this recording practice (since 2009) invites viewers to recreate their own passage.
